Can a group take turns covering its commitment?
Yes. When a group of adorers shares a commitment and its members take turns, mark the group as a rotation group. We Adore Him then assigns each upcoming date to a member, in turn, as far out as your schedule goes.
Turning On the Rotation
Visit Admin » Groups, create or edit a group, and turn on the Is a rotation group field.
Then click the group's name to open its dashboard. A Group Rotation card appears once the group has more than one member. Drag the adorers into the order they should rotate through the commitment dates. The adorer at the top is up next.
Only administrators and hourly captains can turn on the rotation and set its order. Members see the resulting schedule, with a name on each date, on their own dashboards.
Who Is Assigned to Each Date
Assignments are handed out in rotation order, one date at a time, starting from the top of the list. Each of the group's commitments rotates on its own, so a group that covers two different hours keeps a separate place in the rotation for each.
The assigned adorer's name appears in every place you would expect:
- Next to each upcoming date on the group's dashboard
- On each member's own dashboard, alongside the rest of the group's schedule
- On the Calendar page, in place of the group name
- On the Adoration Check-In Kiosk, where the assigned adorer checks in by name like any other committed adorer
Reminders
The commitment reminder goes only to the adorer assigned to that date, rather than to the whole group. The same is true when you change an hour: only the members assigned to the affected dates are contacted.
Substitutes
The assigned adorer can request a substitute for their own dates, from their dashboard or by replying SUB to their text reminder.
Because the group is the most natural place to look first, the other members of the group are invited before anyone else. If none of them accepts, the request expands to all eligible substitutes.
When the Group Changes
Add a member, remove one, or drag the rotation into a new order, and the upcoming dates are reassigned automatically. Adding or removing a member keeps the rotation where it is, rather than starting it over. Reordering the list does start it over, from the top.
Turning off Is a rotation group clears the assignments, and the group's commitments go back to being shown under the group's name.
