The Adoration Check-In Kiosk lets your adorers check in and out on a tablet in the chapel. We watch the kiosk's connection and notify administrators and captains if it ever goes offline.
Until now, opening the kiosk on a second device to troubleshoot could interfere with that monitoring. The system would treat the new device as the active kiosk, so the last update time and offline alerts followed whichever device pinged most recently. Coordinators trying to confirm what was showing on the chapel iPad sometimes set off false offline alerts in the process.
Today we're adding a test mode for the kiosk. Add
?testing=1 to the kiosk address, like
kiosk.weadorehim.com/?testing=1,
and that device runs the full kiosk while keeping the last update time
and offline notifications tied to your main kiosk.
Now you can open the kiosk from another device or location, see what adorers see, and troubleshoot with confidence, all without disturbing the live kiosk in the chapel.
