Claiming Substitute Requests
How are substitute requests claimed?
When an adorer requests a substitute, there are several ways that another adorer can claim it, or a coordinator can assign it to another adorer.
Substitute Request Invitation
Most substitute requests are claimed this way. Substitute adorers receive invitations to claim substitute requests via email, text message, or phone call, based on the notification preference in their account settings.
- If it's an email, they can click on a link to claim the substitute request.
- If it's a text message, they can reply YES to claim the substitute request.
- If it's a phone call, they can press 1 to claim the substitute request.
- Received: An adoration substitute is needed for This Friday, September 18, 2026 at 3-4 PM. Can you do it? Please reply YES or NO.
- Sent: YES
- Received: Okay, you are signed up for This Friday, September 18, 2026 at 3-4 PM. Thank you!
Dashboard Page
Open substitute requests are displayed on each adorer's Dashboard page. Adorers can click the Sign Up button to claim this substitute request and make a one-time commitment. Adorers only see the substitute requests they are eligible to claim.
Embed Widget
If you have the Embed Widget installed on your organization's website, open substitute requests are listed there, each with a Sign Up button.
Schedule and Calendar Pages
When an adorer makes a new adoration commitment on the Schedule or Calendar pages, a matching substitute request may be claimed automatically.
Administrators and Captains
Administrators and captains can assign a substitute request to another adorer.
