In We Adore Him, the Substitute Finder invites eligible substitutes one at a time until someone accepts. That works beautifully with some advance notice, but an emergency just before an adoration hour needs attention right away.
Now, when an adorer requests a substitute too close to their hour, a real last-minute substitute request is created. No invitations go out, since there isn't time for a search, but the request exists and everyone can act on it:
- It appears at Admin » Substitute Requests marked Needs manual help, so you can assign a substitute.
- Eligible adorers can claim it like any other substitute request.
Administrators and captains are alerted as soon as one of these requests comes in, and again when it's claimed or assigned, so nobody keeps working on a request that's already filled.
Set how much time the automated system needs with the Threshold for last-minute substitute requests setting at Admin » Settings » Substitutes.
Adorers are told that their request was created, the automated system can't search this time, their adoration coordinator has been asked to step in, and they remain responsible for the hour until a substitute is found.
