Including Links in Text Messages

We made a change to our text messaging system.

If you include a URL (or "link") to something other than your We Adore Him website, it will be replaced with a forwarding URL.

For example, if you post a message like:

Our adoration protocols have changed. Please review them at https://someurl.com/important-document.pdf.

It will be replaced with something like:

Our adoration protocols have changed. Please review them at https://example.weadorehim.com/l/xd4T.

Don't worry—when your adorers click on that link, it will redirect them to your original destination.

Why did we make this change?

Mobile network operators are tightening restrictions on how businesses can send automated text messages and phone calls. Most of these changes are good—they help ensure that your messages are delivered (and not incorrectly flagged as spam).

Sending links from a consistent domain helps their algorithms trust that your messages contain legitimate and welcome content.

It's complicated. Essentially, this change helps prevent mobile carriers from flagging your text messages as spam. And that's a good thing!
